There is many series of potato chips in Japan.
Among them, this time, I will introduce the potato chips by Koikeya!

What’s KOIKEYA PRIDE POTATO?

KOIKEYA PRIDE POTATO is made by Koikeya with full of their pride as you can see in its name.
The potato is made in 100% Japan!
I will introduce “salt from Nagasaki Hiragama”, “grape pepper with citron flavour” and “rich seaweed salt” flavour!

For the first, I will introduce salt from Nagasaki Hiragama.
It is a salt made by slowly boiling down with clean sea water in West Sea city, Sakiko town, Nagasaki prefecture.

The package is indigo blue and it has wave patterns in the upper part.
It is Japanese style of the package so it’ll catch your eyes.

I put everything inside on the plate.
There is nothing special in its appearance.
However, I noticed something.

It is thicker than the normal one.
It means it should have a special texture!
Let’s eat them!
It is crispy and thick as I expected.
It is chewy and tasteful!
It has a good amount of salt and I could feel a fresh taste of potato.

Grape pepper with citrus flavour

Next, I will introduce “grape pepper with citrus flavour”!

Grape pepper is made in Wakayama prefecture in Japan.
The name grape pepper is named the pepper grain was big like a grape.
“Kii remote mountain pepper” is used.

Japanese pepper is green but you don’t see it.
And, it’s not spicy.
This is also thicker chips and crispy.
The citrus flavour is a little bitter.
Japanese pepper is very rare so there will be people who can’t have it.
Even for Japanese, some people can’t eat it.
For me, I can’t eat whole of the bag.
I felt “salt from Nagasaki Hiragama” and “Grape pepper with citrus flavour” is less volume.

Rich Seaweed Salt

At last, I will introduce rich seaweed salt flavoured chips.

Baked laver, dried sea lettuce, and green laver are used.
And also, for salt, roasted salt, seaweed salt, and kettle cooked salt are used.
Pepper is blended to bring out the flavour.
Let’s eat it!
When you open the package, you can feel the smell of the cost.

As you can see, it has rich seaweed flavour!
I love it as seaweed lover.
It is a little bit salty but tastes nice.
It is thinner so the texture is light.

You can eat it in just one bite.
