A new standard for foundations! A review of kiss’s excellent base foundation

There are many excellent yet cheap Japanese brand base foundations. Today, I will be trying and giving a review on one that has been gaining attention as a superb base foundation.

People residing outside of Japan may have never heard of Kiss and, to be honest, I too have not heard much of the cosmetic company. So, I was a little worried. However, when I went to the drugstore I noticed that Kiss’s cosmetics were widely displayed and realized that the company’s products were gaining a lot of attention and popularity. Making use of the opportunity, I tried some of the cosmetics using the tester kits available and found that each one was of fine quality. Among them, I bought the one that was the most highly reviewed and I would be sharing it with everyone today.

The (Mat Chiffon UV Whitening Base foundation), that I am sharing today, has been receiving overwhelmingly good reviews on one of Japan’s major cosmetics review sites @cosme. According to the reviews, that number over 3500, the applied area becomes really smooth and the pores become unnoticeable, the very moment that the base foundation is applied. Riding on this storm of praise, I could not help but try the product for myself.

The anticipated verdict?

This time I tried the bright, 01Light color.

The lace pattern on the lid is really cute.

The base foundation uses a pump dispenser, making easy to dispense, of which I am really thankful for.

The foundation cream has a fluffy texture, as though containing air, and has a fresh feeling to it. Spreading the cream out by hand, it spreads out quickly and smoothly.

Spreading the cream a little more thinly, it feels really smooth; similar to the feeling after powder foundation is applied.

After application, the skin is strikingly brighter and it becomes obvious that the base foundation is excellent at covering the redness of the skin. Another thing that I am pleased with the product is that it contains no additives or fragrance, removing the peculiar smell that certain foundations have. I have a dislike for that particular smell, so I am happy to use this odorless cream from Kiss every day.

After application of the base foundation for a whole day, the applied area did not become oily nor did it crumble or flake off as some foundations would. I was really surprised that the product was as amazing as the rumors made it to be. However, one regrettable thing is that I have pretty dry skin and after application of the cream over a period of time, I could feel my face drying up. So, I would mainly recommend this product for those who have combination or oily skin. Even in the reviews, the outstanding rating come, mostly, from those with oily skin.

How was it？
People may be weary of products made by an unknown foreign cosmetics company, since many of them are applied directly to the skin, such as foundations, however, this base foundation from Kiss is extremely popular in Japan and sales are doing well, so you can be rest assured of the product’s quality. Even my friends are hearing many good things from people who are using the base foundation. So, please have a try.
