KS Frozen Foods – Japanese chicken meatballs skewers (toritsukune kushi – teriyaki sauce)

Sushi is not the only Japanese food you can eat!!!

Yakitori is also considered as one of the most iconic Japanese food, and today we’d like to share our review on “tsukune”, Japanese chicken meatballs.
These frozen Japanese chicken meatballs are skewered and there are 6 skewers in a bag.

Thawing time (for 6 skewers)

Room temperature: 2 hours / microwave: 500W 1 minutes and 50 seconds

We thawed these skewers at room temperature for 2 hours.
The meatballs have soft texture and the teriyaki sauce tastes savory.

The teriyaki sauce tastes very delicious, as it’s not too sweet.
You definitely would like to have one of these in our lunch box!

You cannot eat all frozen foods right away, so make sure to check the packages before you eat them.

Only products with strict quality check and management can get the “自然解凍 OK” (can be thawed at room temperature) label, so make sure to find these kanji characters when purchasing frozen foods in Japan.

Maruha Nichiro – Instant Edamame from Hokkaido Tokachi

Edamame is an iconic healthy snack from Japan, and the Japanese love them for its rich nutrition.

Edamame is the younger version of soybean, which is used as the main ingredient of tofu and soy sauce.
Inside the package, there are 250 grams of edamame beans.

Thawing time (for 250 grams of edamame)

Room temperature: 2 hours / microwave: 500W 3 minutes

We thawed these edamame at room temperature for 2 hours. Make sure to place ice cubes under the edamame to make the color of the edamame looks fresher and greener.

We popped the edamame beans and ate them.
The texture of the edamame beans is just right; not too hard and not too soft.
The beans are not too salty too, and you’ll eat more of them after your first bite!

We tried to thaw these edamame bean with microwave, but they’re not thawed completely, so we recommend to thaw these edamame beans at room temperature or with flowing water!
