Stop, breathe, relax. Let’s take a break with Japanese tea

Ever have these thoughts? “I’m tired… I want to take a break…”
Why not take a break with some Japanese tea?
This time, I will introduce you to tea from Ito En, a company that is famous for their “Oi Ocha” tea.

Oi Ocha: Premium Green Tea Teabags

First up is green tea.

This is a tea made from Uji matcha and 100% Japanese tea leaves.

When you open the box, you will see 20 individually-packaged tea bags inside.
They are triangular tea bags made from a nylon material. Its mechanism allows you to make delicious tea.

This time, I tried making it with a mug.
I accidentally left my teabag in a little longer than I should, but my tea did not taste bitter or too strong either.
It has a refreshing aftertaste and it was very easy to drink.
Because the tea could taste bitter after leaving it out for too long, it is better to drink the tea as soon as you make it.
Kindly enough, there are instructions on “how to drink deliciously” written in both Japanese and English.
Please enjoy your tea according to those directions!

Oi Ocha: Premium Hōjicha Teabags

Next, I will introduce hōjicha tea.

This hōjicha tea is made from 100% Japanese tea leaves as well.

Similar to the green tea, 1 box contains 20 triangular-shaped teabags.
The tea leaves have a deep, earthy scent.
Although hōjicha may seem to have a unique flavor, it doesn’t taste too strong and it was very easy to drink.
The aftertaste is refreshing too.
There are instructions on “how to drink deliciously” written in Japanese and English inside the hōjicha box as well.
In addition, instructions on “how to make hōjicha latte” is written, so please try that out too!

Oi Ocha: Easy-to-make Matcha

Next, I will introduce matcha.

They are made from 100% stone-milled matcha leaves!
The matcha powder may seem bitter, but it actually smells quite sweet.

Take out an appropriate amount of matcha powder, pour in hot water, and stir well.
I didn’t feel any unpleasant bitterness or sweetness, but a smooth, easy-to-drink tea.
It’s nice how you can use these inside sweets and other dishes♪

Ume-Kombucha

Lastly, I will introduce ume-kombucha (Japanese plum and kombu kelp tea).

This is a tea made from Japanese ingredients Hidaka kombu kelp and umeboshi (pickled plums) made in Kishū.
Inside the can, there are 2 bags of 50g powder and a measuring spoon.
The powder smells like salt and plums- like the smell of pickled plums.

When you add the hot water, you can really smell the pickled plums!
There is no sourness of the pickled plum, and the strong taste of kombu makes this tea very delicious.
This was a bit salty for me, so I poured in more hot water.
Please adjust the flavor to your liking ♪
And those were some teas by Ito En.
Just taking sips of warm tea makes me feel a lot calmer.
If you ever feel tired, please relax with some Japanese tea.
