You have to get these if you go to Kamakura! A special on the best souvenirs!

There are many types of snacks that can be bought as souvenirs in Kamakura and, today, we would like to introduce 2 classic souvenirs that have been well-loved for the longest time.

Toshimaya [Hato Sabure (Pigeon-shaped shortbread cookie)]

First up we have the Hato Sabure which is popular and a classic Kamakura souvenir. The snack, which is popular in Kamakura, can be found in many households that stock up on tins of them, for their own consumption or to serve to guests.

The popular snack may be a simple butter cookie, but the rich butter aroma and gentle sweetness of the cookie is bound to put a wide smile on those who eat it♪

As you can see, the cookie is quite large; it is about the same size as a lady’s hand. The cookie is quite filling and when eaten with milk, is utterly satisfying. Actually, due to the popularity of the Hato Sabure, it has been made available in other places apart from Kamakura such as department stores near Tokyo station. It is really delicious, so please buy some and have a taste!
