【Tokyo Station】A feature list of popular souvenirs
In the summer of 2017 the shopping area within Tokyo station went through renovations, was expanded and a few new confectionery stores popped up. Today, I would like to introduce the top 3 popular confectionery, which has caused long queues since the opening of the newly renovated shopping area.
NEWYORK PERFECT CHEESE
Currently, the hottest souvenir from Tokyo station has to be this confectionery, the (NEWYORK PERFECT CHEESE).

The NEWYORK PERFECT CHEESE is a confectionery of fluffy milk cream and white chocolate containing Cheddar Cheese from Denmark, wrapped in a biscuit made from fragrant Langue de Chat dough kneaded with Gouda Cheese. It has an authentic cheese fragrance, a unique look and a light yet delicious taste, such that it is such a joy to eat no matter how many of them you eat.
Before trying it, I was thinking to myself if a sweet confectionery would go well with cheese. However, it turns out that the cheese was only slightly salty and the sweetness of the confectionery also matched exquisitely with the rich fragrance of the cheese, making it thoroughly delicious♪ I really want everyone to try the NEWYORK PERFECT CHEESE, but getting some might be a problem. According to the store, it seems that it is sold out on most days by noon. So if you are dropping by Tokyo station in the morning, you definitely need to try to get your hands on some!

This particular store sells waffle cake souvenirs. The waffle cakes are really delicious and popular, however, because it is a perishable, it is not as recommended as a souvenir if you are travelling on a plane. Therefore, I would, instead, like to recommend this cookie type waffle confectionery.

As shown in the picture, it has the appearance of a cute and crunchy, yet chewy cookie.
This one is honey lemon flavored, with lemon peels added into the waffle cookie. It also has a rich, unique waffle flavor. Do take note there are also many other flavors such as chocolate and strawberry caramel.

The waffle cookies also come in a small box packaging which makes it perfect for a souvenir to give out to friends and family. By the way, the character drawn on the packaging is the mascot for East Japan Railway’s SUICA card.

My most liked confectionery available from Tokyo station, is this one from Kaminariya. Similar to the NEWYORK PERFECT CHEESE, this store also sells Langue de Chat biscuits filled with fluffy soft cream. The fluffy cream has a new and refreshing sensation, and awaiting at the end, inside the biscuit, is a delicious caramelized almond. It is a scrumptious treat that can be enjoyed until the very last bite.

Normally, when thinking of souvenirs from Tokyo, the Tokyo banana or Hiyoko comes to mind. However, I hope you can consider some of these new and popular confectionery to bring home as a souvenir. I really recommend all confectionery introduced today, so please give them a try.
