Hello everyone, have you ever bought any food products from MUJI?
I highly recommend shopping at MUJI because you will be able to make a delicious Japanese meal easily, using their food products. Today, I would like to introduce some ready-to-eat products from my favorite [Rice topping] series from MUJI!

MUJI [Rice topping series]

Price:350 yen(Tax Incl.)
First up we have the [Beef tendon & Konjac Bokkake]; Bokkake is a local specialty of Kobe. It is made by stewing beef tendon & Konjac with ingredients such as soy sauce and mirin.

Preparation is simple; remove the contents from the packaging onto a plate, microwave it for 2 minutes at 500w and then top it off on top of some rice. It was my first time eating Bokkake but I was instantly captivated by the softness of the beef tendon and its subliminal and rich taste!

Next, we have the [Kesennuma Shark’s fin soup].

Price:490 yen(Tax Incl.)
To be honest, I was surprised that MUJI had shark’s fin soup. The shop is thick and made using a soy sauce base. Also, it has the aroma of sesame oil making it delicious. On top of that, there is a lot of shark’s fin in the soup. I was really glad that I managed to eat the famous shark’s fin from Kesennuma town so easily, despite it being considered as a luxury food item.

Next is the [Miyazaki-style chilled soup].

Price:250 yen(Tax Incl.)
Miyazaki is a prefecture in the Kyushu region of Japan; the chilled soup is a standard home cooked meal made during summer in Miyazaki. The dish is made from chilling a mixture of miso and soup stock, and adding shredded Japanese horse mackerel meat. This ready-to-eat chilled soup should be chilled, in advance, in the refrigerator and then topped off on top of some rice. It seems that it is also recommended to add other ingredients, which you may like, such as cucumber slices or tofu; I added cucumber slices to mine. I would also like to point out that the soup stock in the dish brings out a rich umani flavor, making the dish utterly delectable. The dish is especially delicious when eaten during times when your appetite is being affected by the blistering heat of summer♪

Last, we have the [Amami Oshima-style chicken rice].

Price:250 yen(Tax Incl.)
This chicken rice is a food product based off a local cuisine of Amami Oshima. The dish has a broth that exudes the umami flavor of chicken and many vegetables such as lotus root and carrots; it has a gentle flavor that will be well liked by many and has a deliciousness that is oddly calming. Let us not forget that it also gets full points for nutritional value as it has a lot of vegetables and chicken meat!

This concludes the introduction of the rice topping series from MUJI. Did you become hungry from reading the article?

For those who do not normally eat rice, I recommend pairing these food products from MUJI with some rice and giving it a try. Also, MUJI has many other ready-to-eat food products other than the ones introduced today, so if you become interested in any of them please give it a taste♪
