Enjoy Osaka even in Tokyo!? These are the featured products!

Do you know what antenna shops are?
Antenna shops are shops that a company or a local government creates for the purpose of introducing their specialty products and observing the customers reactions to those products.
This time, I will introduce you to items from “Osaka Hyakkaten,” an Osaka antenna shop in Yūrakuchō!

A map is attached at the end of this article so please check it out ♪

Horai Honkan’s Pork Buns

First, I will introduce “Horai Honkan’s Pork Buns.”

They can be found in the freezer at the storefront.
These pork buns are No.2 in popularity!
Selling pork buns in 1945, they now have long lines every day of people waiting to get these pork buns.
Hearing this makes me have high expectations!
Let’s try them.

As you can see in the photo, there is lots of meat inside!
The outer layer is thick and fluffy.
First, I tried eating it on its own.
Even when I didn’t put anything on, the flavors of the juicy meat and the sweet onions are delicious ♡
The pork buns come with a pack of mustard, so I tried eating with that too.
The spiciness of the mustard adds depth to the sweetness of the meat and onions.
Because you can change up the flavors, you will not get tired of the taste ◎
If you are going to eat at home, I think that it will be delicious with soy sauce or vinegar too!
A pack of 4 of the pork buns is 800 yen (tax included).
They can be kept for 180 days in the freezer.
When eating, pour a bit of water, wrap with food wrap, and microwave to let it thaw.
If you don’t put enough water, the outer shell may not be as fluffy, so add a good amount of water to make it just right!

Mituougi Cider

Next, I will introduce the Mituougi Cider.

A company in Osaka called Kotobukiya Seiryou Shouhin makes these.
An illustration of “Billiken-san,” a god that can be seen all over Osaka, is on the label.
You can hear the refreshing sounds of the carbonation when you pour it into a glass ♪
It looks and smells like any other cider.
But actually, the carbonation is not that strong, it is a little sweet, and is very easy to drink!
In fact, this is flavored only with granulated sugar!
(Other ciders contain glucose and/or high-fructose corn syrup.)
It tastes even better when chilled ◎

You can clearly see when you finish drinking everything, but Billiken-san comes with a fortune slip.
There are 4 types of fortune slips: “Luck for Work (仕事運),” “Luck for Love (恋愛運),” “Luck for Wealth (金運),” and “Luck for Health (健康運).”
A 340ml bottle of Mituougi Cider is 248 yen (tax included).

Kokyu Chocolate Pure

Lastly, I will introduce Kokyu Chocolate Pure.

When you hear the name “Kokyu (Breath) Chocolate Pure,” one would naturally think- what?
With the desire for their consumers to experience eating “fresh chocolates that take your breath away,” the name “Kokyu Chocolate Pure” was chosen.
These are No.1 in popularity at the Osaka Hyakkaten!
They are chocolates that have been loved by those in Kitashinchi, an area where many of Osaka’s specialty foods are gathered.
Let’s try them.

They are light, bite-size pieces of chocolates.
Covered with cocoa powder, there is a layer of mascarpone cream cheese chocolate and a milk chocolate center.
The mascarpone and milk chocolate complement each other without overpowering the flavors!
Because they are semi-sweet, I feel like I can eat a lot of them.
In Tokyo, you can only get these Kokyu Chocolate Pure at the Osaka Hyakkaten!
1 bag of Kokyu Chocolate Pure is 645 yen.
And those were the featured items at Osaka Hyakkaten!
I am happy to be able to eat food from Osaka while staying in Tokyo ♡
Please have a look at the store!
